iPad charging best practices

Tips for iPad charging
1. Avoid overcharging
- Remove charger cord after it reaches 100%. Try not to leave the iPad charging more than necessary
2. Turn on Optimized battery charging
- Settings > Battery > Charging > Toggle on optimized battery charging
- This setting will allow the iPad to charge to 80% when charging overnight and will wait to charge to 100% right before you need it and will slow battery aging.
3. Charge smartly
- Avoid letting your battery drain completely.
- Start charging when your battery reaches 20%
4. Avoid extreme temperatures while charging
- iPads get warm / hot when charging. Sometimes cases will hold in more heat
- Avoid charging in extreme heat (95 degrees) or cold (32 degrees)
- Avoid using the iPad while charging so not to increase heat buildup
5. Store properly if not in use
- If you are not using the iPad for an extended period (a day or more), charge the iPad to 50% and power it down.
6. Clean charging port
- Make sure to keep the charging clear of debris. Use a soft brush or compressed air to clean out the charging port
7. Use the Right Charger
Use an official Apple charger or a reputable third-party charger that meets Appleās specifications.
For faster charging, use a USB-C adapter with at least 20W power output.
Always use certified chargers (MFi-certified for Lightning cables) to prevent damage or inefficiency.
Avoid low-quality or counterfeit chargers, as they may not provide the correct wattage and could harm your device.
