Troubleshooting Audio Isses (Stingray System)

Troubleshooting Basic Audio Issues

The Stingray SB3 Music Player is a great device for enjoying your favorite music, but sometimes you may encounter audio issues when trying to connect it to your audio amplifier.

Notes
This guide is designed to assist users in troubleshooting common audio problems between the Stingray SB3 and your audio amplifier.

1. Check cables between music player & amplifier:
Ensure that all audio cables, including RCA, are properly connected between the Stingray SB3 and your audio amplifier. Verify that the cables are securely plugged into the correct input and output ports.
Reference picture below of what the back of the amplifier should look like.

2. Verify Amplifier Settings:
Check the settings on your audio amplifier. Ensure that it is set to the correct input source (e.g., Line In, AUX, HDMI) that corresponds to the connection from the Stingray SB3. Check that the amplifier volume knobs are not turned up too high (can cause screeching / over amplification) or too low (music will be hard to hear)

3. Power Cycle Both Devices:
Turn off both the Stingray SB3 and your audio amplifier. Unplug them from the power source, wait for 30 seconds, and then plug them back in. Power them on and check for audio.

4. Test with Different Audio Source:
To rule out issues with the audio amplifier, test it with a different audio source, such as another music player or device. You can plug headphones into the music player to confirm it is playing. You can plug a device via AUX cable into the back of the amplifier to confirm.

Alert
If the audio issue persists with other sources, it may be an amplifier problem.

5. Inspect Audio Cables:
Examine the audio cables for any visible damage or loose connections. If a cable is damaged, replace it with a new one.

6. Contact Customer Support:
If you've tried the above steps and are still experiencing audio issues, it's advisable to contact Stingray customer support or the manufacturer of your audio amplifier for further assistance.
